The problem with paper-based production management is its lack of reliability, speed and flexibility:
- operators lose, damage or mix up orders/Kanban cards
- it‘s hard to make sure everybody has access to up-to-date documents
- orders are often processed incorrectly, which results in scrap, rework and even late deliveries
- issue reporting and escalation processes are slow and inefficient
Moreover, it‘s challenging to keep track of the current production status due to a lack of real-time data – or their difficult accessibility.
